Duke Basketball Kind of Gay, Apparently
I just came across a rather strange article on Duke basketball and homophobia. That's sort of weird. I used to like Duke basketball somewhat, but then, I started to get the idea that Coach K was full of himself, and that the players were a bunch of rich, whiny, liberal bitches, much like the campus itself, which sort of reminds a person of the MTV show Laguna Beach. (I also really thought J.J. Redick was a snot-nosed crying faggot.) But here comes this article, saying that liberals hate Duke too (I guess because they're too white and lack the requisite "street cred" or something). Interesting. Oh, and for my part, it doesn't help that Coach K is such a brown-nosing apologizer for Bobby Knight. Sorry, Rut, but I hate that dude ... A LOT.

Anyway, in news of a much more serious nature, Angie Harmon insists that she is not racist just because she doesn't like Obama. I'm glad that got cleared up, because it gives me an excuse to post a picture of her.

Also, just in case anybody had forgotten what happened 22 years ago--yes, it's still true, Bruce Willis really did that commercial for Seagram's wine coolers. He even did this one too.

I guess it isn't politically incorrect if a spicy Latino says it.

EDITED BY ADMIN B/C NOLS SUCKS AT PROVIDING HTML LINKS.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

No one is thinking about following that path, and neither should you be for much longer as it is cramping your prowess in the realm of life experiences and story-telling.

For the record, Mrs. Nols and I are going to find out the sex of the latest edition next week. I will keep everyone posted, even if the only one interested is Mrs. Gibbons.
Well, I think we need something to talk about to amuse ourselves here--besides sports and politics. I would have more to say, except I really don't do anything anymore, so I don't really have anything to talk about.

I think the state of NC might have removed the block on my driver's license, though, so that's something. I think Sunday will mark 41 months since I got my DWI for running my car too long in a parking lot and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test. I haven't accomplished much in that time span, except for pushing myself past 250 pounds and sampling a wide variety of useless prescription drugs. As illuminating as that experience was, I really can't say that I'd recommmend it to anyone thinking about following that path.
I think I see what you mean. I can't think of anything else to say right now, even if facebook says I have an IQ of over 140.

Well, I will say this. As boring as the corner might get during basketball/baseball season, it is nice to have a place to chat where a 140+ facebook IQ is only average.

God, America is full of fools.
There's been a civil war going on within the GOP for the last 5+ years. The idiots started spouting all the lies they would read at the HuffingtonPost and started calling Bush a liberal. Phrases such as "fiscally irresponsible", "reckless policies", "autocratic", "tearing the Constitution to shreds", and "incompetent" were bandied about, and the idiots largely succeeded in convincing the average American conservative that President Bush was a liberal who sold out their interests. Thus, the general incoherence of the party over the last 5 years. Nobody even knows what a "conservative" is anymore, and I suppose that's fine. But what's not fine was the people who contributed to the utter madness of the delusional criticisms leveled against Bush during his last 4 years in office.

When you help create a vacuum of meaning in the political sphere, fueled by cynicism, populist pandering, and misinformation, you end up with a character like Obama.
Who are you talking about?

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

I'd like to be clear, by the way, about who I blame for this more than anyone: the so-called conservatives who were fooled into believing George W. Bush was a leftist liberal, and couldn't stop complaining about it. It was the greatest misinformation campaign in the history of American politics. I don't think I'll ever forgive those fucking assholes. The Soviets used to call these people "useful idiots."
If I gave my true thoughts on Androgynous, Cokehead Barry and Creepy, Metrosexual Timmy G., I think I just might get thrown in prison. The more he talks about trying to get in touch with the "real America" outside the Beltway and Wall Street, the more I'm stunned by just how fake the bubble is in which he operates. There have been so many disgraces in his first 50 days that I don't know where to begin. Even FDR and Jimmy Carter were never anywhere near this freaking crazy.

Just remember this: For every crafty operator that consistently tries to fool the people around him, no matter how good at what he does, there inevitably comes a time when, as a result of basking in the glow of past successes, he loses his discipline and can't help but show the world his true nature.
Well - the elephant in the room is Barack O'Bama's frigid reception around the world of late. With Iran saying (rightly) that nothing has changed with regard to American policy there, Chavez flat out calling him "ignorant" and with European leaders calling him out on his inSANE spending spree, I'm left a little amused by his apparent thinking that foreign policy was simply a matter of being someone other than George Bush.

Let me say one part of that again: European leaders are worried about our frivolous spending.

EUROPEAN LEADERS.

So...the global excitement over our "progressive" new leader seems to be waning. The honeymoon is now over outside of Nols' house I think.

Thoughts?

It's also nice to see The Big Aristotle rippin' people again. On and off the court.

"I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that's strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men. I'm going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before -- make him quit. Make 'em quit and complain. It's what I do."
